Gymnastics Classes
Baby & Me– (ages 12-18 months) Our goal is to stimulate the children cognitively, explore tactile senses, and work on gross and fine motor skills, as well as develop strength and coordination. We provide a stress-free environment to foster the bond between parent and child.
Tiny Tots– (age 2-3 years) Parent participates with child. Learn the basics of self-confidence, listening and following directions as well as movement, coordination, balance, strength and fitness. Monthly lesson plans incorporate themes and fun activities. Tots 1 &2– Tots 1 (age 3-4) Tots 2 (age 4-5) Learn gymnastics terminology, positions and basic gymnastics skills on tots-sized equipment. Lesson plans are updated monthly with fun themes and activities.
Tots gain self confidence while learning to listen and follow directions as well as body awareness in movement, coordination, balance, strength and fitness.
Boys Fit Zone 1&2– (age 5-7 and 8-11) Class designed especially for boys to keep them in shape, release energy and have FUN! A variety of activities incorporate gymnastics and tumbling, obstacle courses, relay races, conditioning, climbing and jumping, as well as drills and skills for many other sports. The goal is to prepare them physically and mentally for sports and fitness.
Acro– (Boys and Girls ages 12 and older) Focuses on movement such as obstacle courses, jumping and balancing as well as learning a variety of flips and acrobatics. The goal is to learn skills including body control, acro skills as well as conditioning and fitness.
Tumble/Trampoline– (age 6-10 and 11 and older) Basic tumbling progressions and drills for Handstands, Cartwheels, Round-offs, Back Handsprings and more. Special equipment such as trampoline, mats and pits will assist students in learning these skills.
Pre– Ballet– (age 3-5)Learn the correct ballet positions, posture and basic technique through a variety of games, stretches and exercises. Students will learn steps including skipping, tendu, chasse, and plie. They will have the opportunity to perform a dance they learned at the end of each quarter.
Ballet 1– (age 6-10)Students will learn correct ballet positions while incorporating games and stretches. Dance steps, combinations, turns and leaps.
Jazz/ Hip Hop– (age 8-11 and 12 and older) Choreographed dance warm up. Learn dance positions, steps and combo’s as well as leaps and turns. Learn fun jazz and hip hop dances.
Cheer/ Pom– (age 6-10) Learn basic motions, jumps, tumbling, stunting and rally/spirit techniques. Also basic dance technique for poms including positions, motions and dance steps/combos.
Level 1-3 (age 5-7 and 8 & older) Introductory level for beginning gymnastics. Students will learn basic gymnastics skills on Vault, Bars, Beam, Floor and Trampoline. The Level 1-3 curriculum is based on the skills provided by USA Gymnastics. As a gymnast is able to master skills, they will progress to the next level. They will have the opportunity to participate in Fun Meets in the Winter and Spring to show what they have learned. Stars, USAG and Xcel Teams by invitation only (special requirements apply.)
Stars Teams include Tiny Stars, Future Stars, Rising Stars and Shining Stars. Gymnasts are selected out of the Tots and Level 1-3 program considering strength, flexibility, skill and attitude. Stars classes learn USAG skill progressions on vault, bars beam and floor as well as strength and flexibility.
USAG and Xcel Teams– USA Gymnastics is the organization that governs the sport of gymnastics and selects the Olympic and National Team. Our program is based on the USAG Level 1-10 skills. Gymnasts enter team at Level 4 and compete state and nation wide. Gymnasts are invited to team considering strength, flexibility, attitude and skill.
As a USAG Gymnastics member club, we follow a safe progressive program that requires students to perfect established skills at each level before advancing to the next level. Our gym is equipped with all the women’s Olympic apparatus as well as in-ground trampolines and a 40 foot tumble tramp. We sport solid and loose foam training pits as well as a variety of skill cushions and safety mats. Our staff is certified through the USAG Professional Development Program. Program directors and senior staff members are USAG Safety Certified. Co-founder Harlan Bensley was the second person inducted into the Colorado Gymnastics Hall of Fame.
Pre-school gymnastics – is offered for ages 18 months to 5 years. Recreationals gymnastics – is for beginning through advanced gymnasts ages 6 and older. Boys Fit Zone – is designed to prepare Boys for sports related athletic performance. Competitive Gymnastics – is by invitation or tryout only.
